If you don’t know about Ron Berger’s ‘Austin’s Butterfly’ you really should.
A true story. The butterfly that Austin, a first grader, draws is the result of a combination of knowing what excellence looks like by studying the model, specific and purposeful feedback from peers who compare his work to the model, and his willingness to keep making improvements by drawing it again and again. Although the video is set in a primary classroom, this lesson is powerful for all grades.
